And since rules were rules - no IOUs and no change - “Jimmy Buckets” began profiting $80 a cup. Lee calls it “genius,” and Butler admits, “I was sitting in my room thinking about how to be a hustler.” But, fact is, if the coffee was succulent enough, players were going to come back for more with only $100 dollar bills left to spend. Noticing early on that every player’s per diem envelope was filled with $1,020 in cash, Butler then had a wonderful, awful idea: Sell his coffee for $20, exact change only. He bought a French press, a bean grinder and a milk frothing wand online, and he was in business - though technically not yet a businessman.
