![]() ![]() Your solution of using an older book first worked for me this time and I'm hoping that's the trick. and I can't finish the book - ARGH! If I thought a new kobo would help (I'm using an Glo HD, which is kind of old now) I'd go buy one in a second, but lots of people with newer devices report the same problem. I often borrow a book and it installs to my kobo fine - but I often read in French, and I read pretty slowly in French, so I almost never finish a book in the loan period - then I re-borrow the book, and then it won't install. BANQ in Montreal) and it loads to my kobo fine, other days, NOPE! and I spend ages fighting with it. Sometimes I download a book from the library (same library as OP incidentally. I intermittently have to fight with this and it drives me nuts. I've lost so much time trying to make ADE work that I chose to buy ebooks on sale for a while just to never use ADE again but books are sooo expensive that I want to give it another try. Is there another software that can do the same thing that ADE is suppose to do but is actually working? With the 4.5 version when I download an Epub it doesn't remove the protection on the ebook so I can't read it with my ereader: the book cover is all black and I can't open the file. The 3.0 version worked on my older computer but I can't download it on my new one. I bought a new computer almost exclusively for this because I read a lot and it could have been really useful and could have saved me a lot of money in the long run except that it doesn't work. So if I want to read library books on my ereader, I don't have a choice: I need to use a computer and ADE. It specifically says on the website that it doesn't work with Kobo ereaders because their website have an aditionnal protection that the ereader cannot read. If there's by any chance someone from Quebec here and would want to know, I have a library card with the Bibliothèque des archives nationales du Québec. I'm in the province of Quebec and when I try to sign in with my library account it doesn't work for "securities issues". I have a Kobo Libra H2O and I technically could borrow books directly with my ereader from my library with Over Drive without using a computer and ADE (which would be absolutely wonderful) but I can't. I've had a lot of problems with ADE since I got my ereader in 2020. I apologize in advance if my post isn't clear, my first language is French! :-) Discussion of DRM removal is allowed for books you have purchased legally but please note that legal requirements for DRM vary by region.
